Eredivise get their De Klassieker this weekend as Ajax Amsterdam host Feyenoord Rotterdam at Amsterdam Arena. The hosts are on the second place while the visitors on the third and whereas Ajax trails behind PSV by four points, Feyenoord are behind Ajax by eight. History wise this match has resulted in not only entertaining football, but also clashes with the supporters, sometimes rather violent that prompted an agreement between the two cities to ban visiting fans from the stadium for five years.
Ajax exited the KNVB Beker against Vitesse back in December which allowed them to fully concentrate on Eredivisie where they have an unbeaten run of 14 matches. Ever since October they score at least two goals in their home matches and end up winning them. Boilesen should be available for selection and the left side of the back line, while Fisher and Veltman are still on the sidelines. Ajax look more solid this year with only two defeats in the first half of the season. Schone, Milik and Klaassen make up Ajax’s frontline and together they make 19 goals from Ajax’s total this season in Eredivisie, where the visitors have won with at least a 2 goals difference in their last games at Amsterdam Arena.
Feyenoord’s presence in Eredivisie this season is made off creating many goalscoring chances, converting them, but also conceding almost in every match. Prior to losing against PSV with 4-3, Feyenoord had a very good record in away games going for 13 matches unbeaten. Their latest win came against Twente where Boetius, Immers and Toornstra scored and considering they are unable to win against Ajax since 2012, Feyenoord’s players might get an extra motivation for Sunday’s super clash of the titans. Elvis Manu will miss this match, but apart from his absence the visitors should have the entire squad at their disposal.
