After a series of rumors that started once the FIA confirmed the new regulations for the next seasons, it seems that Audi is ready to step into the F1. The announcement would be done by the start of 2022 before the new season begins.

Audi’s presence in motorsport

The German brand has already participated and won in different Word Rally Championships, Pike Peaks, and other categories. Also, they achieved victories in 24 hours endurances such as Le Mans, Spa, and Nürburgring.

One of the reasons that have kept them away from Formula 1 is basically money. However, the new set of rules for the upcoming seasons promises more balance for all teams and budget ceilings. For Audi and other automobile manufacturers, the MGU-H removal from the cars’ engine will represent a great window for them, as this is a very expensive piece to develop.

Another positive aspect for new teams to join Formula 1 is the unit cost limitation. For the first time, the V6 1.6l engines will not only increase their electric power capacity but the costs of these engines will be limited.

A better Formula 1 for the planet

Part of the changes set in the F1 for next years are to produce a 100% sustainably-fuelled hybrid engine in 2025. This will not only give new hopes to get more teams fighting on top but also to have a beneficial impact on the planet.

In general terms, Audi is satisfied with the upcoming changes. Actually, they sent a letter to Stefano Domenicali (F1 CEO) and Jean Todt (former FIA president until this month). The letter expressed that the new set of rules offers a fair commitment for both the newcomers and current teams.

We expect to see a lot of updates from Audi for the next couple of months and a bright future for this Volkswagen Group’s subsidiary. This being said, keep reading the best news about sports and betting in Sports Blog Tipster.
