Borussia Dortmund reclaimed their rightful second place in the Bundesliga table after a 3-0 win over Nürnberg, which also helped us win the bet we had with Ladbrokes on Robert Lewandowski to score. The hosts made long forgotten the time when they were on the 5th place in the table after a series of poor results.

This time around the good news for Dortmund kept on coming. They were in good spirits after the win over Zenit, they welcomed back Mats Hummels and they managed to keep a clean sheet. Dortmund started the match with a long pressing game that put Nürberg’s goalie to work, as he managed to save two almost impossible shots from Mkhitaryan.

Pekhart caught a great shot from long distance, Weidenfeller was not going to reach it, yet somehow he still managed to hit the upper post. The first half finished in a goalless draw and Dortmund didn’t want to risk anything as they upped their attacks in the second half. Lewandowski had a header saved on the 51 minute, but Schäfer cleared it, only to bounce off to Hummels who scored his first goal for Dortmund since 2012.

The hosts were beginning to create chances to score from open spaces left on the wings; Schäfer has once again denied Dortmund two goals before Lewandowski made it 2-0 on the 64th minute.

Mkhitaryan made it three to nil on the 83 minute to give Dortmund their old place back. Now that the title is out of reach, Lewandowski stated he wanted his team to finish on a high note and win all remaining games, including the Allianz Arena derby in April.

Result: +6 units, bet won
