According to reports from a witness, two men were seen heading in the direction of the bar on a motorcycle moments before the incident happened.
“Two people on a motorcycle passed the establishment at the time and soon after they were pursued by two others who left the property. McGregor was presenting a tasting menu at the bar, so those responsible for the attack must have figured he was inside,” said one of the witnesses.
Irish police are looking for more witnesses and people who have some kind of footage of what happened to assist in the investigation into the attack.
“Gardai (Irish police) are interested in anyone who has any footage of the scene during the night. Anyone with information should contact the police station,” the police statement reads.
Purchased by Conor McGregor in 2019 for £2 million, the Black Forge Inn was renovated and opened in mid-2021 and has since become one of Dublin’s most popular nightspots.
