Evian vs. PSG
Wednesday, December 4th 2013, 21:00 CET
This weekend France shed what it looked like the last remains of the PSG vs. Lyon rivalry. In Parc des Princes PSG proved that those times are long gone, and it’s already by their team that the others will judge or analyze the French football. They beat Lyon with a resounding 4-0 and increased their stay at the top of the league by four points.
That all happened while Blanc didn’t even bother to field one of his most precious assets, Matuidi didn’t play and Javier Pastore was in charge of keeping the ball in the opponents half of the field. And they succeeded quite well considering the bookmakers are now poising Paris Saint-Germain to be the first team to win a consecutive title since Lyon did the same in 2008.
This Wednesday Paris Saint-Germain plays against Evian Thonon Gaillard and is expected to walk away with the three points. Evian have lost their last two games after what seemed like a surge of very good form, they managed to score two wins against Toulouse and Guingamp. It looks unlikely they might pose some threat to PSG, considering their list of injuries is what one would call extensive including Barbosa with a broken collarbone.
Should you choose to go for Paris Saint-Germain, then for the goalscorer market you would have to choose either Ibrahimovic or Cavani, or if your bookie of choice has it the double chance goalscorer meaning either should score in 90 minutes. Things easier for PSG might make the fact that Fabrice Ehret is suspended making Evian TG’s defense easier to pierce through. Betfair offers you to back PSG’s win at 1.37 odds and the draw, which is highly unlikely at 5.2, but if you go for Paris Saint-Germain to win in both halves then the odds of that happening are 1.97.
