On one side fo the field, we have the feracious Italian squad that seems ready and inspired to win it all. After winning their three games on the group stage and ending with a balance of 7:0 goals, the following stages werent’ that easy for them. Italy faced Austria in the round of 16 and won by 2-1. Then, they faced Belgium during the quarter finals – which was one of the favorites – and won by the minimum again. However, during the semifinals, the Italians faced the Spanish team in a very closed match that was decided by the penalty kicks. Italy ruled it by 4-2 (5-3).
Regarding the English, they didn’t performed impressivelly during the group stage achieving two wins and one draw but scoring only two goals. However, they became stronger while they advanced in the knockout stage; England beated Germany by 0-2 and then crashed the Ukranians by 0-4. Finally, they faced Denmark in a controvertial match where they took the win by 2-1. This is the first time England moves to the final in European Championship.
Of course, this is the most important match for both teams. Italy is seeking his second title, while England will try to get their first after 55 years of not reaching a final stage. We can say that these are very different teams which reach this stage in very different shapes, but they both deserve to be here.
