LIVERPOOL-VS-NEWCASTLE-UNITED-11-may-2014-prediction

After letting the Premier League title slip between their hands like the sands from an hourglass, Liverpool play the last match at Anfield wondering what could have been. And the answer to that question is a Premier League title, which they will most likely not get after leading with 3-0 and ending up with a 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace. This time the bookmakers are tipping Liverpool to win.

Looking back, their title hopes were stomped upon when they lost against Chelsea without the most prolific striker being able to score. That was what hindered their title race from the very start, even if they always score a lot of goals, they are almost always unable to keep a clean sheet, or settle a big winning margin. Had they been better at defending this season, they would have lifted the trophy this Sunday at Anfield Road.

Newcastle were not in a good position to be after recording six defeats in a row, five of which were without any goal scored. Last week they finally managed to win against Cardiff City, and did it with a clean sheet. They are currently on the 9th place, yet the future is not looking particularly bright as they are set to lose some of their key players in the summer. For example, Loic Remy went straight after the match to watch Arsenal vs West Bromwich, amidst rumors of him joining the Gunners, so probably next we are supposed to see Luis Suarez at a Real Madrid match?

Liverpool are the overall favorites to win this match, perhaps even with a clean sheet, and it will be a testimony to their character should they be able to regroup in time. An outright Liverpool win is at 1.20, a Newcastle one at 13.00 and a draw between the two sides at 6.50. Both teams to score in the first half is at 5.00, and Liverpool to win both halves is at 2.00. We are going to bet 5 units on the coupled market of both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 2.10 with Bet365.
