MANCHESTER-CITY-VS-FULHAM-22-march-2014-recap

Manchester City headed into their crucial title week with a 5-0 win over Fulham, but it meant we lost the bet placed with Betfair on David Silva as an anytime goalscorer. The Citizens weren’t exactly in full throttle for this match, yet Fulham looked even worse which allowed the Citizens to win with 5-0 and get back on the third place in Premier League.

The first City goal came on the 26th minute when Toure converted a penalty given to his side for a foul on Alvaro Negredo. In the second half, Fulham’s Amorebieta received a red card for another foul, this time on David Silva. Toure made it 2-0, and then mere 10 minutes afterwards he completed his hat trick, after his powerful shot from outside the box managed to get past both Fulham’s defenders and the goalie.

The fourth goal was scored on the 84th minute when Fernandinho received the pass from a corner kick, courtesy of James Milner. Manchester City’s man to be partially blamed for the exit against Barcelona, Martin Demichelis, made it 5-0 two minutes before the end of the regular time.

Toure has now managed to score 20 goals this season, in all competitions, and Manuel Pelegrini believes the midfielder will end up being instrumental in his side probability of winning the title. It doesn’t even matter that as of lately be it because of injuries or general not so good form City’s attack hasn’t been as prolific as in the first half of the season. They have enough attacking midfielders who can back the team up, and they will need this as they travel next to Old Trafford.

Result: -8 units, bet lost
