After the current crisis that Manchester United is living on the English Premier League, it seems that a new coach will come sooner than later. Mauricio Pochettino, the current PSG coach, sounds like the best candidate to take the position according to the English rumors. For the French team, this is more a reality and, if the Argentinian goes to Manchester, Zidane could be chosen as the new coach of the French team.
Zidane as PSG shareholder
The French legend and former Real Madrid coach, knows Nassir Al Khelaïfi very well. He is the president of Paris Saint-Germain club and Zidane is a shareholder of the team apart of a Qatar World Cup Ambassador. According to Le Parisien, the French newspaper, both Zidane and Al Khelaïfi have talked a few times about the possibility of getting Zidane as coach.
After Zidane’s departure from Real Madrid, he has mentioned several times that he wants to keep coaching other teams. In fact, he is one of the favorites to replace Deschamps in the French national team. This would be a major dream for the whole nation, but nothing is confirmed. For those reasons, these rumors about PSG are getting bigger.
Paris Saint-Germain and its stars’ ambition
Since the Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) purchased the club back in 2011, their ambition to form a dream team has been always a dream. During the last years, the added Keylor Navas, Marquinhos, Verrati, Mbappé, Mauro Icardi, Neymar, Ángel di María, Danilo Pereira, and many other football stars. Most recently, they signed the best two captains from the Spanish league: Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi. There is no doubt that money is not a problem and they are going big.
Additionally, Zidane is a big name in France and the PSG fans would love to have him. There are different candidates in case Pochettino finally leaves the club, but none of them have been true stars as ‘Zizu’ during their career as football players. In fact, getting Zidane could help the team to retain Kylian Mbappé, who is strongly linked with joining Real Madrid next season.
