Sevilla Sevilla FC 2 – 6 Real Madrid CF Real Madrid

Cristiano RonaldoWhat a game this was! Fantastic football from both Real Madrid and Sevilla, and definitely a night to remember for Cristiano Ronaldo. I have to say, I had some doubts about Real Madrid before this, and even in the soccer prediction and football tips in this post I didn’t favour them to win. But on the brighter side, both my football bets payed off! Thanks to my football prediction I won 8.4 units, and got a chance to see a very exciting game (as with any sports tipster, I was anxious as hell throughout the game).

If you didn’t have a chance to watch the game, here’s a short version of what happened: somehow Cristiano Ronaldo got his “groove” back and scored 4 times! That man was a delight to watch yesterday, as well as the whole team of Los Blancos. Unlike in their games against Barcelona, against Sevilla Real Madrid took control of the game from the very first minutes and kept it throughout. Benzema had a very good opportunity to score after about 10 minutes from the start of the game, but his header was wide off target from a mere 7 m.

Ten minutes later, Sergio Ramos handled the ball better, and from a corner from Mesut Ozil he found the back of the net. 10 minutes later came the first goal of Cristiano Ronaldo, a beautiful volley which left Javi Varas without reply. Towards the end of the first half came Kaka’s beautiful goal from outside the penalty area, and the players went in break time with Real Madrid leading 3 to 0. Sevilla unfortunately didn’t show much in the first half. I was surprised by that, since I predicted they would take advantage of the crowd’s support. Football predictions are tough.

The second half was definitely more enjoyable to watch. The crowd started off really lively, and Sevilla started holding the ball more in midfield. After about 15 minutes from the start of the second half, this possession paid off, and Alvaro Negredo managed to trick Casillas from outside the box, scoring Sevilla’s first goal of the evening, and visibly pleasing the lively fans. Unfortunately, the same Negredo wrongly passed the ball in Sevilla’s box, where Cristiano Ronaldo had no problem defeating Varas to score his second goal of the evening. And in the following 10 minutes he scored 2 times more, once in the 70th minute and once in the 75th. Mesut Ozil was the creator of both goals, with lovely passes and great coordonation between him and the Portuguese. Finally, Sevilla grabbed a late opportunity to score when Negredo rose to score from a corner kick.

I was expecting a game with many goals (I wrote that in my soccer prediction here as well), and it was definitely worth watching, and betting on! My first football bet was for both teams to score, for which I wagered 4 units. I was really anxious to see it happening, especially after a 3-0 end to the first half. But the second half made it happen, also for my other bet on over 4.5 goals scored. Too bad I only bet 2 units on that… All in all, great game!
