Sunderland vs. Chelsea
Wednesday, December 4th 2013, 20:45 CET
Chelsea is on Arsenal’s tail to find a crack in the armor of the current leaders that will allow them to climb onto the first place. This Wednesday they travel to Sunderland and seek those three points that seem so vital for everyone involved.
Sunderland comes from a goalless draw against Aston Villa and Chelsea beat Southampton at Stamford Bridge. The later match started off kind of curious since Chelsea were already losing in the first minute. The Saint’s advantage didn’t last long as Chelsea took over not only of the ball possession percentage but also of the game in all categories.
The equalizer however came in the second half, and the third goal that led Chelsea to a better goal average came in the 90th minute. Chelsea have won their last head to head encounters with Sunderland, and with the form in which the Blues are now it’s hard to predict any other outcome than an outright win. Even though it would be due to remember that Sunderland’s defense improved in the last games, but it still isn’t enough to stop Chelsea and the mission they are on.
It will fall on Fernando Torres or Andre Schurrle’s shoulders to have the Blues advancing forward yet either can be tipped to score the winning goal. 888sport has 6.50 odds for Sunderland beating Chelsea, and the draw is positioned at 4.20. In the end it looks reasonable to go for a Chelsea win, and maybe even suggest they would score more than one goal.
