VfB Stuttgart vs. Augsburg
Saturday, November 28th 2012, 20:00 CET
VfB Stuttgart achieved a bitter 2-1 victory against Augsburg last week at Bundeliga I. Ibrahima Traore, an ex-Augsburg player and Vedad Ibisevic helped securing all three points for Bruno Labbadia’s players, moving them into the mid-table congestion.
After the break, both Augsburg and Stuttgart were desperate to improve their situations in the field. The hosts established an early grip on proceedings with Augsburg sitting deep. After sending in two dangerous crosses, Traore was able to break the deadlock against his former club from the pull back of Ibisevic. Traore’s goal came within just 11 minutes, whereas his teammate, Vedad Ibisevic scored the second one in the 69th minute. The goal achieved by Augsburg was added in the 45th minute by Ja-Cheol Koo.
In the last twenty minutes, Stuttgart took the lead back as Traore returned the earlier favour by finding Ibisevic with a free-kick. Fortunately, after the exchanged free-kicks of Rafael Holzhauser and Marcel de Jong, Koo brought life back into the encounter by beating Sven Ulreich.
All in all, VfB Stuttgart didn’t disappoint their fans, and managed to defeat Augsburg in a stylish, elegant way.
