Werder Bremen vs. Hannover 96

Friday, February 1st 2013, 11:30 CET

The German Bundesliga Week 20 begins, and the football teams Werder Bremen and Hannover 96 are going to meet on the 1st of February.

Neither team has achieved any ravishing performance since the beginning of this year. As for the results of their latest five matches played, Hannover 96 has 2 victories achieved against Wolfsburg (2-1) and Leverkusen (3-2) and 3 defeats in front of Schalke 04 (when the score was 5-4), Borussia Dortmund (5-1) and Fortuna Düsseldorf (2-1).
On the other hand, Werder Bremen has a clear victory over Hoffenheim (4-1), one 1-1 draw with Nürnberg and 3 defeats in front of Hamburg, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Last time these teams met was on the 15th of September, and the encounter ended in a 3-2 victory for Hannover. That time, the two goals of Werder Bremen were scored by Aaron Hunt in the 26th minute and Kevin De Bruyne in the 74th minute, while the three winning goals of Hannover 96 were added by Szabolcs Huszti who scored twice, in the 6th and in the 90+2nd minute and Leon Andreasen who scored within just 10 minutes from the beginning of the match.

I think that the outcome of this match will depend on how the Hannover defense consisting of newly signed defender Johan Djourou and the goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler will manage to face Kevin De Bruyne and Nils Petersen.

All in all, I think that at this moment, Werder Bremen have more chances at winning this match, so I am going to place a bet on their victory. I bet 4 units at 2.00. The odds I used are from Bwin.

Werder Bremen to win at 2.00.

  1. The spectacular figure of Nils Petersen brought Werder the victory! The final of the match was simply breathtaking. The deadlock was broke in the 85th minute and the second goal came 3 minutes later…a sheer marathon!!
