Introduction

What looked like a race that could be full of happy surprises, turned out to be the shortest but at the same time a long running race while the spectators across their TVs maybe had one of the most boring races. This meant that the top 10 finishers would get half of the original points for the championship.

The Controversy

Now what fans are arguing about is whether those 2 laps completed under the safety car would count as an actual race. Because there is no overtaking allowed under the safety car. So, those cars only completed 2 laps without actually “racing” each other. But they were still awarded points according to their place in the race (what they qualified for the day before).
